Open Question: craigslist babysitting scam?
This is an email I recieved after posting an add on craiglist for a babysitting job. I'm pissed because I actually believed it and sent them my address like a dumby...so I will be receiving a check soon. What should I do with it??
Hi, i saw your post on Craigslist. We are coming from Quebec,Canada. March 10 is our arrival date we would need a babysitter/nanny who will take care of our little girl during our stay in the United states her name is Teressa (2 years old) and i believe that with a nanny like you, she will be comfortable. We would be spending 3 weeks vacation before returning back to Quebec,Canada. I want you to babysit her from Monday through Friday,10am - 4pm daily. We will need your service from March 10th- March 31st, 2012 excluding weekends. Will you will be available at that period?Firstly we want to get a Babysitter/Nanny for our little girl Teressa, before we book our vacation home. We are not sure of the area we would be visiting since this is our first time in the States and we dont have a nanny to take good care of her, only if you accept to take care of her, then we shall come over to your city and state. Which part do you live ? Your decision will determine where we would be staying in your location, let us know if you can take care of her in your home or at the hotel that we are going to lodge. You will take care of the food aspect,we are going to provide enough fund for her welfare, you can purchase any food for her,she is not allergic. How much do you want me to offer you a week for the job and you will take care of my daughter for 3 weeks from Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm,let me know the total amount that will be paid for the 3 weeks, the main reason why we need your service is that we will be busy during week days because we have to visit some places and we also have lot of Humanitarian works to do around the City. We will be dropping her off and pick her up later around your schedules { that is if you want to watch her your place}.Teressa is a kid, one would like to be with, full of fun and love playing around, she loves toys. I am sure you will be able to give the best care..She is gentle, hardly fall sick, she likes sports, loves to watch cartoons, likes going to the beach, she likes to watch TV mostly and can eat by herself,Im sure you wont have problems with her.I'll come along with her medical form, immunizations and vaccine records. Kindly answer all my questions accordingly as i am to forward this email to my Company as proof that i am hiring and paying someone for my daughter's childcare service while on vacation..So they can include that in my traveling expenses which is to be paid to me. The payment will be make in form of United States certified Cashiers Check and it will get to you prior to my arrival in order to make payment for your service and the duration that my kid will be taken care of.Please get back to me with your Name ,Address and phone #. How much do you want me to pay you for the service? and the payment will be sent to you as soon as you get back to me with your full mailing information i mean your contact Address with your contact phone number and the Courier service tracking number used in mailing of the Cashiers Check will also be sent to you if you need it. Thanks

Open Question: Impossible love? What can be done?
I'm from south carolina and she's from ontario canada. We met on vacation in florida and there was definitely a connection. We have written each other for 4 years now and even visited twice during that time.
I know it sounds stupid but I feel like we have an unspoken love. I've dated girls and she's dated guys but we always came back to each other. Do I give up or is there anything I can do? I'm done college now and she's in her third year. I just can't stop thinking about how much she means to me.

Open Question: Is it better to rent a vehicle or drive my own van for a long trip?
I am planning a vacation in August 2012 from Saskatoon, SK, Canada to Disneyland, California. According to my plan that's almost 6000km (3728 miles) of driving (http://tinyurl.com/7u4useb). I have a 2002 Chevrolet Venture LS, 3.4L, V6, automatic (no cruise control) with about 165,000km on it. We will be gone for 2 weeks. I just got everything repaired on it and my repair shop says everything should be good for the trip but I still wonder if it is better to rent instead of driving our own van.
As far as I can figure it out the cheapest I can find a car rental is for $829, taxes in, for a Dodge Caravan rental for 2 weeks. This does not include damage waivers or anything like that.
I'm wondering what other people have had for experience with this or any insight that I cannot think of. Is there much vehicle wear over 6000km of highway driving. Enough to make it worth spending about $1000 to rent a vehicle instead?

but i gotta do alot of things in order to achieve this, and i live in ontario, so that why i want to go traveling, see landscapes, and take pictures, all i just want to do is stay somewhere with a pretty view, and live somewhere with mountains like in Vancouver, they have pretty sweet mountains!
Pretty much just stay in the wilderness... and travel around nature, just going to see beautiful spots!
So, what would you like to do if you lived life to its fullest?

Open Question: should i quit my job if i haven't gotten a raise in four years?
the c/o froze raises four years ago even though the recession didn't hit our company that hard. he cut my department down to 3 people even though we had the same volume of work forcing me to literally run all day at work. don't get me wrong i don't mind working hard im proud of my self most of the time after a hard days work but when you work in a 110 degree warehouse and you are forced to run while carrying heavy objects you want to die about four hours in. while i was enduring 4 years of pure hell the c/o decided that he was doing well enough to buy 2 of his competitors companies so we actually expanded during the recession twice still no raise even after i have the work from 2 other companies shoved on me. now the the c/o is going international buying companies from virgin islands and Canada next month and im forced to sign a contract saying im not aloud to earn more than 5 vacation days until ive worked there 10 years and still no raise. i dont know if i should quit because i have no idea if its like this everywhere right now and ive looked for new jobs there is nothing but minimum wage bs jobs out here.
sorry this was so long i just got really angry while writing this and decided to rant about my life like a 15 year old emo kid.

Resolved Question: Canadian residents, is this true in canada?
So my friend just came from like a 1 month vacation from canada where his sister migrated and now lives there. We live in the Philippines and my friend had all these stories about canada. So i just wanna confrm from real canadians...are these true? Forgive me if I sound like an ignorant monkey or something.
1. In canada, milk and a loaf of bread is delivered every morning for free in every household.
2. In canada, internet speed for 8 bucks is 50mbps. (probably true...we have shitty internet here...top speed of 2mbps at 20USD)
3. There is like...an open yard for every household where they can leave their used items like appliances or electronics and some other people can just come and pick it up (my friend said his sis picked up an old laptop at one of these)
4. canadian tax is like 40% of the income?
5. Canadian people are real polite. (My friend accidentally bumped into someone real hard and the guy just told him to be more careful and to have a nice day...here people would have cussed at you)
6. Every household is recommended to have a sports car like a Porche with Nitro because at night the streets are open to drag racers and it is recommended that you drive a fast car at these roads so as not to get into accidents and keep up with them.
7. Salary is so high, normal people afford Luxury cars like a Porche. And they normally have 2 cars per house hold.
